The cottages at Madeira have been receiving guests since 1994 when the Duncan family established Madeira Holiday Cottages.
Now Madeira has changed hands and Jamie Robertson and his wife Tara have taken over the business.
Madeira is a calm and serene spot that lies close to the village of Pittenweem. The cottages have recently been refurbished. All the cottages offer a peaceful comfortable place to spend a few days or a week enjoying all The East Neuk has to offer.
Madeira got its name because for hundreds of years sailors came to this part of the coast just inland and found that the climate reminded them of the island of Madeira. It truly has its own micro climate allowing fruit trees including figs, kiwi and walnuts to flourish.
The cottages sleep between 2 and 9 people and are fully equipped. Baby equipment can be provided free of charge.
The village of Pittenweem is a 10 minute walk away down a safe path and has pubs, shops and art galleries to browse round. The harbour is particularly pretty and is one of the last working fishing harbours on the coast.
Two miles down the road you can find the pretty village of Anstruther with its famous fish and chip shop. St Andrews, Crail, Elie and St Monans too are all within easy reach.
