‘The Den at Culross’ is a new business venture based at Blairhall Mains Farm near the historic village of Culross, a family run arable farm which is diversifying into different projects.
Phase one of our diversification project has been to convert the existing farm cottage into holiday accommodation, with the view of building on the success of the cottage and being able to offer alternative types of accommodation in the future.
The farm is located less than a mile north of Culross, just off the main A985 that runs between Cairneyhill and Kincardine in West Fife. We grow winter and spring cereal crops and hay and have been farming here since 2013. We have 2 young children who are keen to follow on behind us so it is important to us to develop a sustainable business.
We are excited about this new venture as we feel there is a demand for good quality holiday accommodation in and around the village of Culross. The village itself is beautiful and full of character and was one of the film locations used in the TV series ‘Outlander’.
We benefit from a great network of paths in the area, providing cyclists and horse riders as well as walkers an excellent opportunity to explore the area. A short section of path was completed on our land by the West Fife Woodlands Group in the autumn last year. They did an amazing job and this section now gives access from Balgownie Wood to the Fife Coastal Path at Culross using quiet country roads.
The cottage is ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday or as the perfect base for touring the local area and further afield.
We are very centrally located and within easy reach of many of the major cities by car or rail. We have excellent road links with easy access to the motorways, making us an ideal base if you wish to travel further afield.
There are many activities to enjoy and places to visit in the local area. Walkers, cyclists and horse riders can access the network of paths including the Fife Coastal Path and theWest Fife Cycle Way as well as exploring in the Devilla Forest.
Please note that SatNavs will not bring you directly to us as there are other properties with the same postcode. Please use the following directions as you travel along the A985.
We are approximately 4 miles from the Kincardine Bridge. As you cross over the Kincardine Bridge keep right onto the A985 which takes you round the bottom of Kincardine. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit staying on the A985. Travel through the Devilla Forest and we are the 2nd farm on your left, just before the B9037 road to Blairhall.
We are approximately 14 miles from the Forth Road Bridge. From Rosyth head West onto the A985. At each roundabout continue on the A985. Do not turn right onto the B9037 that SatNav will try to take you, we are the next farm on your right after that junction.
