Renewables

Fife is working hard to position itself as a centre of excellence for renewable and green energies. In order to maximise the potential of the natural environment, the strategy is to create sustainable economic growth in this developing area, including in offshore wind, wave, tidal and fuel cell technologies.

Business and financial services

Fife has a long history within the financial and business services sector. With over 19,000 people across Fife employed in this sector, it encompasses financial intermediation, contact and service centres, real estate and property services.

Construction

Construction is a significant contributor to the economy and there are a number of major house-builders and construction companies located in Fife.
