11 November 23

Things to do

1. Indulge in some festive food and drink

Take a trip to the coast and enjoy a cosy afternoon at the Inn at Charlestown on the 3rd of December, where they're hosting a festive afternoon tea with live entertainment. Perfect for a chilly Sunday!

Looking to pick up some gourmet nibbles to serve your loved ones on Christmas day? Visit Cambo Estate on the 2nd and 3rd of December and browse through a range of festive goodies from Fife-based bakers, brewers, tea makers and more at their food and drink market

Why not have a go at making some tasty treats for your friends and family this Christmas by booking onto Greener Kirkcaldy’s Festive Foodie Gifts workshop where you can try your hand at making some delicious homemade fudge, gingerbread syrup and cauliflower chutney. You can also decorate your jars and bottles to give your gift an extra special finishing touch!

2. Enjoy a family day out

The Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse looks like it's straight out of a fairytale and is the perfect location to meet Mrs Claus! On the 2nd and 3rd of December, Mrs Claus and her elves will be ready to meet you at a special Santa Experience, where they will have presents ready to give the kids! Take photos with Mrs Claus and her magical Christmas tree in the mansion's decadent library.

Enjoy a guided winter walk around Leslie with the Fife Coast and Countryside rangers on the 7th of December where you’ll explore woodland walks and lush, tumbling waterfalls. The walk is 3.5 miles long and will cover some of the Fife Pilgrim Way. Wrap up warm, bring along some snacks and flasks of tea! A donation of £10 for a family of four, or £5 for an individual is suggested.

3. Do a spot of Christmas shopping

Still looking for that extra-special gift for someone special? Look no further, as Fife has a great range of markets for you to browse around on the run up to Christmas.

Crail Community Hall’s Christmas Fayre is going ahead on the 2nd and 3rd of December. Browse through a range of cards, soaps, textile designs, seaglass, bags, cushions, needlefelting, handmade leather items, wood art and more. A special choir performance will be taking place at 12 noon on the Saturday too.

4. Go to a Christmas pantomime

Christmas is simply not Christmas in Fife without a trip to the panto!

Follow the yellow brick road to Dunfermline this year where the Wizard of Oz will hit the stage at the Alhambra Theatre from the 7th – 28th of December. Expect a dazzling night of entertainment and family fun.

The newly refurbished Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy is hosting The Little Mermaid, which will be on the big stage from the 9th of December until the 6th of January. It's set to be a magical, fin-tastic show with fabulous sets and costumes.

Expect singing, dancing and loads of hilarious jokes at this year’s Cinderella pantomime at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews from the 30th of November until the 31st of December.

‘Ya Wee Beauty and the Beasty’ will be taking place at the King’s in Kirkcaldy after being hailed as ‘Fife’s favourite panto’ in 2022!

5. Get crafty at a winter workshop

Have a cosy & wholesome afternoon at Bowhouse St Monans on Saturday the 2nd of December and make your very own Christmas wreath in their 2-hour workshop. Choose from a range of winter foliage and decorations and make a wreath which you can hang proudly on your door. Light refreshments are provided.
