Scottish cyclist Mark Beaumont, has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation by bicycle across the world, completing the challenge in just under 79 days on the Artemis World Cycle.
In a new video for VisitScotland, filmed prior to his round the world attempt, Mark cycles through the Kingdom of Fife while discussing how he trains.

The film opens with Mark racing a rally car at Driftland Lochgelly before he talks about his 30 – 35 hour per week training routine where he can clock up to 500 miles. As he speeds along the tracks of Parkhill Farm, Muckmedden, he explains the value of finding a good balance between intensity and recovery. The two-minute film also shows Mark enjoying some of Fife’s fantastic food and drink offering, such as Eden Mill Gin and Jannettas Gelateria ice-cream, while discussing the importance of consuming good, natural produce.
Recent figures have revealed that one million day trips and 261,000 overnight trips, which include cycling on a road or surfaced path, were taken by visitors from the UK in 2015, generating a combined total of £106million for the Scottish economy.
