Massive discount for Scottish golfers at St Andrews this summer

30 Apr 2025

Scottish golfers can now enjoy a rare chance to play on the world-famous courses of St Andrews at a fraction of the usual cost.

As part of its new Drive initiative, St Andrews Links Trust is offering an impressive 87.5% discount on high season green fees across several of its courses from May to October 2025. This move aims to increase accessibility for local players and encourage broader participation in the sport.

Highlights of the offer include:

Old Course: Play a round for just £42.50 (usually £340)

Castle Course: Now only £22.50 (down from £180)

Discounts also available for the Jubilee and Eden courses

A total of 179 tee times will be made available at these reduced rates, giving 716 golfers the chance to secure a slot via a two-ball ballot system. Successful applicants will be paired up and allocated tee times, beginning with 11 available rounds on the Old Course starting 21 May.

Please note: Golfers holding an annual St Andrews Links ticket (£386 for access to all seven courses) are not eligible for this offer.

In addition, the initiative sets aside a dedicated week — 27 May to 3 June — on the Eden Course exclusively for members of the armed forces, emergency services, volunteers, and disabled golfers.

The Drive campaign comes as part of a wider review into course access amid surging local and international demand, with the goal of making golf at St Andrews more inclusive for all ages and abilities.
