Leading popular Science authors Marcia Bjornerud – author of Timefulness and Laura Poppick author of Strata: Stories from Deep Time, join Dr Clare Cousins to discuss their geological insights and the processes which have shaped both their own lives and the Earth itself.  Laura Poppick is a science and environmental journalist based in Maine. Her stories have appeared in the New York Times, Scientific American, Wired, Audubon, National Geographic, Science and other publications. She has been listed as a finalist for the National Association of Science Writers Science in Society Journalism Award and the Maine Literary Awards Short Works Competition in Nonfiction, among others. Marcia Bjornerud is a structural geologist whose research focuses on the physics of earthquakes and mountain building. She is currently the She combines field-based studies of bedrock geology with quantitative models of rock mechanics. She is currently the Walter Schober Professor of Environmental Studies and Professor of Geosciences at Lawrence University, Wisconsin.   Bjornerud is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America and a contributing writer to The New Yorker, Wired, the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times, she is also the author of several books for popular audiences.
