St Andrews Museum is a stunning Victorian mansion nestled in the grounds of Kinburn Park. Visitors can expect a lively series of FREE temporary exhibitions and a regular programme of talks and children’s workshops.

We'd love you to visit our café Sweetpea at the Museum! At its simplest, you'll find artisan food with great tasting coffee and a fantastic range of teas but prepared to be charmed as Sweetpea, with its four seasonal menus, elevates the classics with its own twists and surprises! Their ethos also embraces a wide selection of vegan and gluten-free food.

A-Z Exhibition

More than 70 artefacts feature in our ‘A-Z’ display that highlights an object of local interest for each letter of the alphabet. Among the objects on show are a hoard of medieval coins found in St Andrews and a magnificent embroidered banner created in 1823 for the Thistle and Rose Lodge of the Free Gardeners Society, St Andrews. Other exhibits include a St Andrews board game featuring well-known businesses from 2002, and a beer bottle designed by local artist Susan McGill for the first beer brewed in town for more than 100 years by the St Andrews Brewing Company in 2014. There is also a new display of precious mementoes linked to the 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade, formed in Fife during the Second World War.

We are excited to share with you our temporary exhibition Flooring the World

This exhibition celebrates the history of the Fife linoleum industry, from its beginnings in a Kirkcaldy canvas works right through to the present day.  It features objects from OnFife’s unique linoleum collection, some of which – including those collected during the project – are going on display for the very first time!

You’ll also get a chance to explore the milestones achieved during the project, including oral histories with linoleum workers, new discoveries uncovered during our research, and objects we’ve been able to conserve for future generations.

Come along and find out how Fife floored the world!
