The ‘Bruce 750’ Event is a Free Two-Day Festival which will be of value to anyone who has any interest in Scottish history, culture and folklore. Robert the Bruce is an iconic figure and his story has been taught in every school in the land. Generations of schoolchildren are familiar with the enormous impact Bruce had on Scottish independence during the 13th/14th Century. Dunfermline as the 'Ancient Capital of Scotland' and burial place of Robert the Bruce is the ideal location for such an auspicious event. The Festival is an opportunity to re-tell his story re-inforcing his legendary status.   The Festival will be in the first week-end in June. It will be a Free Two-Day Event, open to all in ‘The Glen’ (Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline) featuring staged pitched battles, jousting, storytelling, a re-enactment village and falconry displays as well as music all linked to the 'Bruce' story. The Festival will have a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Key messages will focus on the enticing mix of heritage and modern interlinking with the medieval theme and traditional Scottish entertainment. There will also be various craft stalls, children's funfair as well as a number of food & beverage stalls ensuring that there is something for everyone who is looking for a great family day out.
