Four accomplished and versatile string players, with experience of playing with orchestras, opera companies, chamber music groups and more.

Diane Merson-Jones (violin I) studied at St Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh, then the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After 10 years with the Scottish Opera Orchestra, she started freelancing and has since been working regularly with all the major Scottish orchestras.

Stephanie Brough (violin II) graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1999. Stephanie has freelanced with most of Scotland’s professional orchestras. Concert work has included performing with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Rod Stewart and Michael Bublé.

Maggie Miller (viola) has freelanced at home and abroad with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, BBC Radio Orchestra, STV Orchestra and the City of Glasgow Philharmonic.

Since graduating from the RSAMD, Rosie Townhill (cello) is now a member of the Scottish Ballet Orchestra and a regular freelance player with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She has also worked with Scottish Opera and the Scottish Bach Consort.

The quartet will play pieces by Peter Warlock (Capriol Suite), Mozart, Johan Strauss II, Edward Elgar (Nimrod) and Henry Mancini, finishing with an intriguing 'McMozart's Eine Kleine Bricht Moonlicht Nicht' by Teddy Bor.
