It took Theresa some time to discover Fife. She was born in Dundee in 1959 and graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in 1982. She finally left in 1987, first for Liverpool to train as a teacher, then to teach in Hartlepool, Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster before landing in Aberdour in 1994. She has lived in Strathmiglo and Falkland and am now home in Freuchie.
Theresa spends a lot of time looking and walking and looking and sketching in a few miles radius of her house in Freuchie. Thanks to the wonderful changeable weather no vista looks the same twice, skies are soft pink grey, blue grey, orange grey with just the occasional peep of blue, clouds are heavy and dark with rain with a sudden bright fissure - from something called the sun! So many greens against the rich blue black turned earth and the subtle pinks of the dry paths! Who would live anywhere other than Fife?
Theresa is delighted to be exhibiting at the Stables again! This time she has mostly smaller landscapes in a variety of materials - some ink, some coloured pencil, a little bit of pastel and some a mixture of two or more with biro added in places too.
