After the roaring success of our inaugural event in 2019, the charity organisation - Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival (SC051403) are back with a full card over the weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August! We'll have a tough but picturesque 10k trail race on the Saturday afternoon. We first held this race last year and it was very popular. Then we get into full swing on the Sunday morning with the half marathon main event. Nearly 1000 runners took part in 2019 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tough but very scenic route exploring all Kirkcaldy has to offer. The route will take runners out of Beveridge Park and up near to Fife Central Retail Park before heading east towards Dunnikier Park. After running through the park the runners will continue east before swinging right again and heading down into the historic coastal village of Dysart with it's 15th century harbour. After leaving the harbour area runners will then make their way up and through beautiful Ravenscraig Park before heading down onto the newly refurbished promenade. A final sharp right will take them back into Beveridge Park and the cheering crowds at the finish line. While the half-marathon runners are away exploring Kirkcaldy, friends and family can take part in a short timed fun run consisting of one lap of the park with medals available to all who finish. There will also be the KPRF Event Village with numerous stalls offering various items as well as hot and cold food and drinks. Come along and be a part of Kirkcaldy's community running event!
