Given the town’s close links with the sea the summer exhibition will now comprise of three maritime themes. In total Burntisland Heritage now has a collection of 23 model ships. These include a battlecruiser, whalers, fishing boats, yachts and sailing ships. All vary in size from a Clyde Paddle Steamer and U-boat both 1.4 metres long to a small kit built aircraft carrier. The display is a must see! Given the key role Burntisland has played over the centuries the exhibition covers ‘Crossing the Forth over the Centuries’ with a visual treat of illustrations and information. The exhibition will also feature the ’Search for the Lost Treasure of Charles I’. This ongoing project was the catalyst for what has now become Burntisland Heritage Trust. This tantalising saga is brought right up to date with recent ongoing developments. It’s a true life adventure story on our own doorstep. Exhibition open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
