Dive into 19th century maritime traditions and discover how Scottish whalers celebrated the beginning of summer whilst in the frozen Arctic, remembered sweethearts left back on shore, and tried to garner good luck for the hunting. Step aboard for a journey back in time as storyteller Jan Bee Brown and researcher Asha Hornsby share nautical traditions and May Day memories inspired by whaling-voyage diaries.
