The Kingdom of Fife offers a host of fishing locations for first timers and experts alike so why not give it a go, try something new and discover a different side of Fife?

We’ve put together our favourite #FifeFive places for fishing.

1. Balmule Valley Fishery (Dunfermline)

What? Balmule offers fantastic fly and bait fishing for rainbow, blue and brown trout from 1.75lb to double figures. Kids fish for free. Variety of permits to suit all types of fisherman. A lodge is on site with a shop where you can buy snacks and drinks along with tackle and bait. Rods are also available for hire.

2. Lomond Hills Fishery (Leslie)

What? Lomond Hills Fishery is located two miles northwest of Leslie. It’s picturesque setting offers year round fishing with three still water reservoirs on site. Offering mixed method fishing that is suitable for any age or level of experience, Lomond Hills Fishery provides free bait fishing lessons for beginners and free parking. Boats are available for hire and bank fishing is permitted.

Where? Approximately two miles northwest of the village of Leslie, Fife. Holl Reservoir, Strathenry Avenue by Leslie,KY6 3HR

3. Craigluscar Fishery

What? Craigluscar Trout Fishery has been run by the Dunfermline Artisan Angling Club since 1893 and comprises of two redundant water-supply reservoirs extending in total to approximately 23 acres.

4. Cameron Reservoir (St Andrews Angling Club)

What? This reservoir was once an important water source for St Andrews but is now a resource enjoyed by fishing enthusiasts. There are also beautiful walks surrounding the reservoir with plenty of wildlife. The reservoir is designated as a Special Protection Area and is leased from Scottish Water. It offers fly-only fishing from both bank and boat and is regularly stocked with both brown and rainbow trout.

Where? Cameron Reservoir is located 4 miles south of St. Andrews (KY16 8PD)

5. Goldenloch Fishing (Cupar)

What? This charming loch is perfect for a peaceful day out and embodies the ethos that fishing is a sport for both relaxation and enjoyment. With crystal clear water and fantastic facilities, all fishing needs can be met here.  Instructors can be supplied for all levels and Goldenlochs main aim is for you to enjoy your day. Regularly stocked with rainbow, blue and brown trout.
