1 .

Find your Autumn calm on the Fife shores

As the days grow cooler, autumn is the perfect time to experience Fife’s seaside saunas. Perched along the coast, these wood-fired retreats offer a cosy escape, where you can relax in the warmth while taking in stunning sea views. Look out too for special events like the Fire & Flow Ritual at Largo Castaway Sauna, Sauna hat and Birch Making Workshop at Elie Seaside Sauna or Luxury Sea & Sauna Experience at Wild Scottish Saunas at West Sands in St Andrews.

2 .

Pick up some seasonal Fife produce

There's nothing nicer than fresh locally grown, caught or produced food and drink and Autumn brings lots of delicious treats. We have some great farm shops, delis, food stores and markets in Fife where you'll be spoiled for choice.

3 .

Capture a beautiful sunset

As the days get shorter it's easier to experience glorious sunsets (and sunrises). Head for the coast or maybe find a high spot and look west to see the sun disappearing over the horizon during golden hour. The perfect way to end an Autumn day in Fife.

4 .

Visit one of Fife's fascinating historic sites

Autumn is a great time to learn about the Kingdom's history at one of our historic sites, and Dunfermline Abbey & Palace, Aberdour Castle, Culross Abbey, St Andrews Cathedral and St Andrews Castle are open all year round. If you live in Scotland you can get free entry to Historic Scotland properties on the first Sunday of every month until March 2027. This offer is online only and tickets must be booked in advance, you'll find more information and full terms and conditions here.

5 .

Enjoy a seasonal treat at Eden Mill Distillery

Make Sunday special with an afternoon tea at Eden Mill Distillery near St Andrews. Relax at a beautifully laid table in the Outlook Bar with views across the Eden Estuary and enjoy autumnal treats with exquisite gin cocktails.

6 .

Explore a beautiful Autumn garden

This is a lovely time to visit Fife's beautiful gardens as vibrant shades of crimson, amber and gold transform the landscape. Wandering peaceful paths surrounded by colourful foliage and late blooming flowers is the perfect way to slow down and enjoy the season.

There are lots of options, from historic gardens at our castles and palaces to urban parks and a botanic garden.

7 .

Experience the thrill of motorsports at Knockhill

Head to Knockhill for live action on the track this Autumn. Events include Scottish Championship Car Racing, the Jock Taylor Motorcycle Memorial Race Weekend and Rallycross. If you want to be part of the action on the track there are some great experiences to try from rally driving to super cars.
