About

For centuries, our farm was known as Hyrneside. Until the end of the Middle Ages, a vast dark forest hid much of its secrets and resources. It provided stone from the Prince of Scotland’s quarries for the monks to build their ‘church by the water’; cover for one of William Wallace’s last skirmishes; timber for ship building; a playground for royalty; freshwater springs and hillside to raise livestock; and fields, reclaimed from the Tay, to grow grains and fruit.

As a nod to history, and alongside our working farm, we’ve created Hyrneside, a place for countryside escapes, farm field events and small batch drinks.

We’ve begun restoring the humble stone buildings that were left behind, creating beautiful places to stay in the Scottish countryside. Our first property, Old Parkhill, opened in June 2021.

Hike the Fife Coastal Path. Cook up a storm in your handmade kitchen. Walk through the apple field. Cycle across the farm. Picnic on the hill. Watch deer and hare. Forage for sloes and elderflower. Listen to the birds on the Riverbank Trail. Look out for seals, otters and beavers. Walk over the Holy Burn to Lindores Abbey Distillery. Play in the forest. Paddle in the river. Make pizzas in the courtyard. Drink farm brewed beer and cider. Gather around the fire.
