Fantasea 2025 at Deep Sea World

28th June – 17th August - A summer full of marine magic, mysteries, and adventure awaits! This summer, Deep Sea World becomes a place of wonder and imagination with Fantasea—a special event where the magical world of the sea comes to life. From hidden treasures to mythical creatures, there’s something new to discover every week of the holidays.

Meet a Real Mermaid, Selected Dates | 11:00am–12:30pm & 1:30pm–3:00pm

Come along and meet our friendly mermaid in our mini grotto! She’s visiting from her magical world to say hello, tell stories, and pose for photos. Don’t forget to ask her what life under the sea is really like.

The Myths of the Sea Trail 28th June – 17th August

Pick up a scratch card and go on a magical trail around the aquarium. You’ll learn about amazing Scottish sea legends like selkies (seal people who can turn into humans), sea serpents, and other strange creatures of the deep. Can you find them all?

Fossil Treasure Digs 28th June – 13th July

Put on your explorer hat and dig for treasure in our fossil sandpit! You might uncover the remains of strange and wonderful sea creatures from long, long ago. You can even see real fossils that were found right here in Scotland.

A Touch of Fantasea: Magical Materials Lab 14th – 27th July

Step into our special research zone and use your super senses to figure out what magical creatures have left behind! Touch and guess mystery objects—could it be a mermaid’s scale or a sea monsters’ tooth?

Scottish Storytelling Sessions 28th July – 3rd August

Come and listen to wonderful stories told by our visiting storytellers. From sea spirits to magical beasts, these tales will whisk your imagination away to a land of Scottish legends.

Meet the Kelpie Keeper 4th – 10th August

Have you ever heard of a kelpie? These fairy creatures from Scottish stories look like horses but live in the water! This summer, you can meet our baby kelpie and the person who looks after him. But be careful—kelpies are full of mischief!
