A highlight of the summer calendar, Hidden Gardens offers a rare chance to step behind the walls of St Andrews, uncovering beautiful green spaces while supporting local heritage and conservation work.

Event Overview
Discover the hidden side of St Andrews at the annual Hidden Gardens event, now in its 28th year. This much-loved fundraising day offers exclusive access to a selection of private gardens normally closed to the public revealing some of the town’s most beautiful and historic outdoor spaces.
From compact courtyard gardens to expansive grounds with heritage features such as doocots and stone walls, visitors can explore a diverse range of settings, each with its own character and charm.
What to Expect
Entry to up to 14 private gardens across St Andrews
A mix of traditional, contemporary and historic garden designs
Live music performances
Tea, coffee and homemade baking on the terrace
Plant sales, including East Neuk perennials
Community and craft stalls featuring local produce, textiles and gifts
Family-friendly, relaxed garden fête atmosphere
The event also provides a unique opportunity to explore the hidden sides of period properties and enjoy a strong sense of community, with local groups and organisations taking part.

This is the St Andrews Preservation Trust’s largest annual fundraiser
Parking available at Langlands Road (Boys’ Brigade Hall, KY16 9BW) and Petheram Bridge car park (KY16 9TF)
Sorry, no pets permitted (guide dogs welcome)

Tickets: £9 members, £12 non-members, children under 16 free, students £9.
Plenty of free parking at the Boys Brigade.
Ticket holders (non - members) will be able to purchase a 1 day pass for £1 to access the Museum for the day of Hidden Gardens only - this will give access to the Museum displays, a chance to visit the new development, toilets, covered garden and crafts stalls- there will be refreshments to purchase including strawberries and cream.
