Fife Ambassadors

Nick was born in Kirkcaldy, Fife to his Scottish mother Norma and Chinese father George.

With both parents running a hot-food business, he grew up in the kitchen - literally! - The Rickshaw takeaway in Leslie was joined on to the rear of the house, and quickly became a celebrated business in the local community. His father still owns the Wok & Spice in St Monans and the Newhaven Express in Edinburgh.

He attended Glenwood High School in Glenrothes before completing his Undergraduate Degree with Honours at the University of Edinburgh, reading joint Philosophy and English Literature.

Whilst at Edinburgh, his natural passion for food and drink continued as he worked during studying with Celebrity Chef and friend Tony Singh.

After stints at The Scotsman and Real Radio, he relocated to London to pursue his love of broadcasting. He secured his Masters Degree in Journalism and Television Production at City University London.

He went on to work for Chat Show hosts Jonathan Ross and Jimmy Carr on a plethora of studio  entertainment shows at ITV and Channel 4, as well as various Indies.

Now in his permanent role at the BBC, he produces weekly show Click broadcast on BBC One, News Channel and World. You may even have seen him on the Heathrow Express TVs or onboard a British Airways flight. And most recently he’s also been producing for the Royal Television Society’s annual conference.

Nick has two sisters - Caroline, a criminal defence lawyer, and Natalie, owner of acclaimed cafe The Haven in Edinburgh.
