The tour takes you around the rewilding project, looking at the reasons behind why Kinkell decided to rewild and how it can benefit nature. You'll also get to meet and feed Coco and Ginger, their two highland cows who play a very important role in their positions as Head & Deputy Head Conservation Grazer.

If you opt for the 2 hour tour, you'll also enjoy a walk along the Fife coastline, finishing with a toastie at The Cheesy Toast Shack at East Sands, St Andrews. Yum!

Every month (excluding Jan/Feb), Bowhouse hosts a free, bustling food market over the second full weekend, open from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, packed with stalls serving up Fife's finest seasonal produce, street food, workshops, and family-friendly experiences.

For a truly immersive farm experience, join their 'Grass to Grill' estate tours, where you ride through regenerative farmland, meet the livestock, then sit down to a pasture-to-plate feast, all sourced directly from the estate.

Fife’s Green Distillery Trail

Whisky lovers can sip their way through Fife with a trio of distilleries that blend flavour, history and sustainability. At Kingsbarns Distillery, a lovingly restored farm steading near St Andrews, visitors enjoy guided tastings and a café focused on local produce, all powered by clever water and energy use.

Just along the Eden Estuary, Eden Mill is unveiling a new, 100% renewable-energy distillery and visitor centre, opening Sept 2025, where gin and whisky meet cutting-edge green innovation.

And at Lindores Abbey Distillery, often called the “spiritual home of Scotch whisky,” the focus is on heritage and low-impact practices, from using barley grown just half a mile along the road, to replanting orchards and recycling every by-product.

Together, these distilleries show how Fife’s rich spirit-making traditions are raising a glass to a more sustainable future.

Backhouse Rossie, near Ladybank

Discover a hidden gem in the delightful estate of Backhouse Rossie, near Ladybank. Owned by the Thomson family explore the beautiful historic walled garden and the largest collection of Backhouse heritage daffodils in the world.   Currently the Collection, based at Rossie Estate in Fife, comprises over 89 Backhouse Heritage Daffodil cultivars.

The on-site cafe has a menu of locally sourced produce and there are also local chutneys and jams for sale.

The Ecology Centre, Kinghorn

Since 2015 the Ecology Centre by Kinghorn Loch has developed paths, play areas, growing spaces, woodland, wild flower meadows, ponds, habitats for amphibians and more besides with the aim of enhancing biodiversity and providing opportunities for environmental education, volunteering and enjoying the outdoors. The Centre is built to exceptional levels of energy efficiency and using, wherever possible, natural, recycled or recyclable materials.  A key feature is the use of old shipping containers, refurbished and insulated to provide workshop and storage space.​

There's  also a lovely onsite cafe serving a menu of local produce sourced within a 10 mile radius you shouldn't niss.

Och Aye Canoe, Kirkcaldy

Kayaking is one of the best ways to get out on the water without disrupting local ecosystems, and as they are self propelled, there is no gas or oil or sound pollution from motors. It's also a great eco-friendly way to get out and about, great for mental health and wellness too, whilst enjoying exploring Fife lochs and Fife's stunning coastline.
