The Red Lion Inn, Culross is a warm and inviting inn serving a classic pub style menu and global favourites, served by an exceptional team who make locals and visitors from around the world welcome to this famous Inn. It receives consistently high ratings and is open 7 days a week from 12:00 with a dog friendly area and outside seating. It is the place to visit after enjoying the historic sights of Culross with its 17th and 18th century palace, houses and cobbled streets.
Visitors are also drawn by the Culross fame as a film location, notably the Outlanders Television series and The Red Lion has played its part as a film set. If you avert your eyes upward, you can see the extraordinary painted ceilings.
With the retirement of the owners in 2022, The Red Lion has been purchased by the community and the tenants, Mike and Andrena Brown are justly proud of their own local links and the employment opportunities that the Inn provides for local people.
A small volunteer run Community Brewery has recently started in the upstairs of the Inn, selling ales to the Red Lion and other hostelries. The ales are named after Culross landmarks such as the Old Pier, Culross Palace and Culross Abbey. Customers are really enjoying this new addition to the Red Lion.
