Lindores Abbey Distillery's Bear Burning, a beloved annual event, will return on Saturday, 9th May 2026.

Part whisky festival, part community gathering, part unmistakable spectacle, Bear Burning is one of the most distinctive events in the Scottish whisky calendar and tickets are on sale now.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the historic Abbey ruins, the afternoon promises something for everyone: live music, food trucks, Highland Games among the ruins, Orchard Talks, and Distillery Tours running every half hour.

As tradition demands, the evening culminates with a Lindores dram in hand and the lighting of the bear.

New for 2026, Bear Burning introduces two premium ticketed experiences for those who want to go deeper into the world of Lindores Single Malt:

Warehouse Tastings – Join distillery manager Gary and assistant distillery manager Dean for five specially selected drams drawn directly from single casks, offered in an intimate warehouse setting.
Whisky Creation Masterclass – A rare 90-minute session led by Lorena, Lindores’s recipe development specialist and the expert behind the distillery’s sensory programme. Guests will explore a curated selection of Lindores expressions, learning how cask type, maturation time and spirit character shape what ends up in the glass, before composing their own bespoke whisky recipe. Each participant leaves with a 200ml bottle of their own creation.

Whether you’re a serious whisky lover, casually curious, or just looking for a genuinely memorable evening with friends or family, this is an event that delivers on all fronts.
