During lockdown Edinburgh Shoreline suggested people visit a local square kilometre of the Firth of Forth Coast and respond to it on a 40cm square of calico which was supplied to them. One hundred and eighty-four people around the Forth embroidered, stitched, glued, printed and painted their responses and feelings.
This exhibition in the Scottish Fisheries Museum displays squares made by people living in Fife, of places that they know and love. The attached explanations from each participant show the extraordinary range of motivations and connections, complex history and diverse wildlife. You can learn how this triggered the ambitious Restoration Forth partnership which is reintroducing oysters and seagrass.
