Cupar Burgh Chambers

Fife Historic Buildings Trust (FHBT) work with others to find new users and funding to give a long-term future to historic buildings at risk. We have helped deliver over £30m in historic environment regeneration projects in Fife, supporting town centres, businesses, tourism and local communities. FHBT owns two apartments Kinghorn Town Hall and John McDouall Stuart View, these are rented out throughout the year as holiday lets, with the profit going to maintaining these and other properties.

Throughout 2017/2018 FHBT managed the Cupar Burgh Chambers project, this was removing the property from the buildings at risk register and working along contractors to restore the property and give it a new use. FHBT will take over the management of the property so it can be used as a holiday let

Cupar is ideally located a short 15 minute drive to St Andrews, the home of golf; however there are 45 golf courses throughout Fife, so lots of opportunities to visit different towns and villages, if golfing is your interest. For those wanting to try something different, Cupar holds a fascinating historical past as it was once the County town of Fife, so why not stroll along the streets and take a walk back in time.

The rooms are furnished in keeping with the history of the building, while providing all the modern amenities you would expect. There’s a magnificent living/dining area on the 1st floor with a large bay window, and large wooden dining table. A kitchenette is in the main living space and has all the amenities required for your stay including a fridge, freezer, dish washer, kettle, toaster and microwave. Every piece of furniture purchased for Cupar Burgh Chambers has been carefully thought through, and Fife Historic Buildings Trust were helped by a recognised expert in Scottish furniture, who advised on key pieces appropriate to the Georgian period, some originally made in Cupar.
