When the Kings and Queens of the House of Stuart held court in Falkland Palace, nearby Falkland Estate was their playground. Today, this historic working estate welcomes all visitors to enjoy its forests, fields and produce - not just royalty!
Falkland Estate has miles and miles of cycle tracks and footpaths through woodlands where ancient oaks from the old Forest of Falkland still flourish - perfect for forest bathing. The paths go over burns and up hills and will take you to fascinating sights, such as the 60-foot tall Tyndall Bruce Monument on the Black Hill and the ruins of the Temple of Decision. There’s also a café with indoor and outdoor tables and a menu where locally-sourced produce, often from the estate, plays an important part.
