About

The stunning Queensferry Crossing carries motorway traffic over the Forth from North Queensferry in Fife to South Queensferry on the other side of the estuary. At 1.7 miles, the Queensferry Crossing is the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world – and also has the highest bridge towers in the UK (210 metres / 690 feet).

Immediately before the Queensferry Crossing was officially opened by the Queen on September 4, 2017, the bridge was, for one weekend, a route for pedestrians. Such was the demand for places to walk across Scotland’s newest bridge, a ballot was held. Over 250,000 people from all over Scotland applied and on September 2/3, 2017, 50,000 lucky winners enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime experience of walking across the Queensferry Crossing.
