Glenrothes is a New Town situated in the heart of Fife. Planned in the late 40's; it's original purpose was to house miners who were to work at a newly established coal mine. Today it's well known for its amazing town art trail and green spaces.
The name Glenrothes comes from its historical link with the Earl of Rothes, who owned much of the land on which the new town has been built;
With views towards the Lomond Hills, the town is blessed with an abundance of green space including Riverside Park, walking trails and a network of cycle paths. At every turn there's something new to see with over 172 public art works, sculptures and murals.
