The Auld Kirk Players offer you the chance to see the 2 plays we are entering into the Scottish Community Drama Association's (SCDA) 1-Act Festival. "In by the Half" is a humorous yet immensely touching play by Jimmie Chinn. A once distinguished actress (Madam) lives in seclusion looked after by her ex-dresser. Their calm routine includes visits from the doctor and a traineee actor (Sylvia). The initial acerbic comedy of the play is changes to a poignant drama of familial anguish. "The Box" is an original play by Liz Berg. A travellor carrying a heavy box is met by seemingly helpful man and together they walk to a nearby town. What is in the box? Why is the contents so important to the travellor and is the friendly samaratin, really who he seems?
This a Free event (Donations are welcome) as it a Preview event prior to the Group participating in the SCDA Festival in March.
