Fife has one of the greatest and most diverse golf products in the world and this blog will show you some of the incredible variety and value on offer to the golfer when visiting the Kingdom.

Liam Barn from Fife Golf has some great recommendations for great value golf to tempt you to get the clubs out.

The Fife Golf Trust manage the 7 public courses on behalf of Fife Council. The courses – Cowdenbeath, Dunnikier Park, Glenrothes, Kinghorn, Lochore Meadows, Scoonie and Auchterderran – offer the most tremendous value and provide those who are both experienced and new to the game with the opportunity to play on some great fun courses.

The value on offer is quite astounding! Per round, it is in the region of £12-14 on the 9-hole courses (Auchterderran and Lochore Meadows) and £25-£30 on the 18-hole courses with concessionary rates available. Amazing value, right? It actually gets better! Annual fees for the ‘Fife Rover’ ticket are £371 for adults and purchasing one allows the golfer unlimited play on ALL 7 courses! That’s right, you could play 7 different courses, 7 days of the week, 365 days of the year and pay only £371! Have kids interested in the game? £10 per annum for under 12’s and £40 per annum for under 18’s is a brilliant way to get them involved in the game. There is also individual membership available at each course and check out Season Tickets – Fife Golf Trust for the respective prices.

Many of the clubs are fully committed to supporting junior golf and have thriving junior sections – Dunnikier Park even has a 6-hole beginners course where each hole is named after a local school!

The courses offer links and parkland layouts and are located across the central and south of the region with each providing a unique playing experience - Old Tom Morris actually designed the original 9-holes at Kinghorn. For golfers looking to play the game a little more seriously and enjoy competition golf, they can choose to join the clubs attached to the courses separately.

The Fife Golf Trust is one of the biggest public golf facilities in Scotland and more than 140,000 rounds are played every year, so why not make your next round at one of their courses – you definitely won’t regret it.
