About

Step back in time at the Crail Heritage Centre and Museum, where the rich history of one of Scotland’s most picturesque fishing villages comes to life. Nestled in the heart of the East Neuk, this volunteer-run gem offers a fascinating insight into Crail’s past—from medieval royalty and ancient churches to the seafaring traditions that shaped the village.

Explore exhibits on:

  • Crail’s Viking roots and royal connections

  • Fishing heritage and life in a coastal village

  • Local craftsmanship, trades, and wartime stories

  • Regularly changing exhibitions and local art displays

Perfect for all ages, the museum also hosts walking tours, talks, and family-friendly events throughout the year.  We offer family history research, interactive, accessible touch screen display, treasure hunts for children and a children's corner, exciting and innovative exhibitions, weekly guided walks and much more.

Opening Dates: 17th - 21st April, Bank Holiday weekends in May and August and from 29th May - 19th October 2025 11am - 4pm
Admission: Free (donations welcome)
