The historic town of Kinghorn is a popular seaside resort in the summer months – and a great place to visit at any time of year. Beautiful beaches (even when windswept and wet), coastal walks with spectacular views and stunning Kinghorn Loch are just three reasons to visit. Come along and discover your favourite spot. Kinghorn may be small but its beaches are highly impressive!

Kinghorn Harbour Beach, which is sheltered by high cliffs, is sandy with rock pools just waiting to be explored and a beachside café. One of Kinghorn’s biggest events of the year is the Black Rock 5, a very popular 7km beach and road race. Every May (or June – depending on the tides) thousands of runners race across the sands at Kinghorn Harbour Beach, round the Black Rock and back, finishing with an uphill dash to the town centre finish line.

Peaceful Pettycur Bay Beach, which is on the other side of the cliffs, is a stunning expanse of silver sand. There’s also a small harbour, with fishing boats, yachts and brightly-coloured lobster pots.

Inland, Kinghorn Loch is a wildlife conservation area and coarse fishing venue which is also used for watersports, including kayaking, paddleboarding and open water swimming.
